Nice to meet you.

Hi,

My name is Lukas and I grew up in the Rhiental valley in St. Gallen, on the border with Austria, Liechtenstein and Germany, surrounded by "the lovely old Rhii", which I really appreciate. Even before I studied at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), I had a passion for film and regularly produced skateboard films with my friends - "welawäag" to learn how to save your camera if you fall off the board!

After moving to Zurich, I decided to study film at the ZHdK, where I produced my final project "üs gohts guet". During this time, my passion for film production developed, especially in the areas of editing, camera work and color correction. After completing this creative bachelor's degree, I took my "Gufara" in an alternative direction. A "shammpaar" scientific biology degree at the University of Zurich (UZH).

I am currently pursuing a Master's in Biology with a focus on Microbiology and a minor in Bioinformatics, while previously I already completed a Bachelor's in Biology. During my studies, I participated in the synthetic biology project "RhyzUp - Drought Resistance Through Biofilm Enhancement", which was awarded a gold medal and the prize for the best sustainable development impact.

Although I am increasingly immersed in science, my passion for film remains. As a side job, I produce "öppanamool" films to explore various topics in a creative way and to further develop my artistic skills. My knowledge of microbiology and bioinformatics often flows into my projects, so that I am able to create films that are both aesthetically and content-wise profound.

In 2018, I was awarded the Alexis-Victor Tahlberg Foundation's Documentary Film Prize and the Lucerne Upcoming Filmmakers Award for my work in the field of film. This recognition has encouraged me to continue to try out my creative ideas and breathe new life into my projects.

Away from science and films, I grab the camera, the skateboard and music - a combination that helps me maintain creative balance and constantly collect new ideas.

Thanks to everyone who has stuck with it this far!

Tschüss
